Gulf Shores / Orange / Beach Perdido Key Day Trips
or things to do when you have had all the beach you can handle or (heaven forbid) it rains !
There is a wide assortment of fun things to do in the immediate driving radius of Alabama's beaches. One of the first things people think of is the Naval Aviation Museum which is just down the beach highway towards Pensacola.
The Sea Lab Estuarium on Dauphin Island is also nearby in the opposite direction. It is located on a barrier island at the mouth of Mobile Bay.
If shopping sounds good, the Riviera Center in Foley is shopping heaven ! It is just 7 miles north of Gulf Shores on Hwy 59 on the south side of Foley. You probably passed it coming into Gulf Shores..
Ft. Pickens in nearby Pensacola
A great beach, a great day Fort Pickens area has approximately 10 miles of park land that includes beautiful beaches, nature trails, fishing, a campground, and of course, the fort. See our photos here.
