Part of the Fort Morgan Peninsula is in the Gulf Shores city limits and a great deal of it is designated as Bon Secour Wildlife Reserve. The historic Ft. There are some very nice walking and bicycling trails on Ft. Morgan Road. The ferry runs from the end of Fort Morgan Road to Dolphin Island. When it is running, (Hurricane IVAN caused an interruption) you can easily ride the ferry to see The Estuarium at The Dauphin Island Sea Lab
Mobile Bay Estuary & Aquarium.
Many people prefer a Fort Morgan Beach house vacation over a stay in the busy Gulf Shores / Orange Beach condo zones where currently there is still a lot of construction.

Watch for the great Fort Morgan Nature Trails to re-open. Stop at the office at the Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge and pick up a map and leaflet. You will see the signs for the office along Ft. Morgan Rd.
