Shrimp Recipes
These 'Pickled Shrimp' are great. The recipe is from Inverness, Miss.
When we were kids, our mom would make these and we would just stand in the open refrigerator door and sneak them dripping the oil marinade down our chins and t-shirts eating pickled shrimp when she wasn't looking.
2 Lbs cooked, cleaned, peeled, drained shrimp-cook in Crab Boil or Old Bay Seasoning
pour over the shrimp:
1 1/4 cup salad oil
3/4 cup white vinegar
3 TBS capers w/ juice
2 1/2 tsp celery seed
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 or 2 clove garlic diced
one sweet onion cut into rings
2-3 dashes of Tabasco
Let sit at least 24 hours--
shrimp will keep a week
I like the pickled onions almost as much as the shrimp !
